Alex Marquez is headed to Madrid to have surgery on his fractured left hand after crashing during the MotoGP Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday. It’s possible that he will undergo the operation on Sunday evening. The crash occurred while Marquez was battling Pedro Acosta for fourth place early in the race, resulting in contact between the two riders. As a result of the crash, Marquez suddenly locked his front tyre, causing him to fall. Marquez, who finished second in the Saturday sprint, now faces a larger points gap to his brother Marc in the championship standings. Updates on Alex’s recovery timeline are expected on Monday, with the next MotoGP race scheduled to take place in Germany in two weeks.
